Item Details

Harris® E309L-16 Stainless Steel Electrode measuring 3/32" X 12" has a maximum carbon content of .04% to offer more resistance to intergranular corrosion. It is associated with E309L-16 AWS classification and meets the requirements of AWS A5.4 standards. Electrode comes in a 10 lb tube.

Features

  • Stainless steel 309L-16 electrode welds base metals of similar composition in wrought or cast form
  • Often used to weld type 304 and similar base metals (and L series) where corrosive conditions exist
  • Can sometimes weld dissimilar steels
  • The carbon content (0.04% maximum) increases resistance to intergranular corrosion by reducing carbide precipitation
  • Titania-type coating for either alternating current (AC) or direct current (DC) reverse polarity
  • 88,000 psi tensile strength (as welded)
  • 65,000 psi yield strength (as welded)
  • 37% elongation (as welded)
  • Conforms to ANSI/AWS A5.4 and ASME SFA 5.4 E 309L-16
