ThermaClad 423H is a submerged arc stainless wire designed specifically for the steel industry as a weld overlay for continuous caster rolls. The increased carbon content provides for a higher initial hardness when compared to ThermaClad 423. The alloy resists the formation of thermal fatigue cracks (fire cracking) during operation. The alloy has good corrosion resistance combined with excellent wear properties, improved hot hardness, and uniform tempering response.Features
