Item Details

Harris® 5/32" Dia Cut Rod comes in a 25 lb package and is suitable for cutting and piercing any metal. Cut Rod cuts all metals and alloys including stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, copper, brass and bronze. It is used for piercing holes, enlarging openings, trimming metals, removing frozen bolts, removing gates and risers, etc. The special core wire in Cut Rod features a heat resistant coating that is nonconductive. It uses AC or DC reverse polarity on regular welding machines. It creates a better blasting action with quicker cutting. This enables operation of the electrode at maximum amperage. It is economical since it saves time, fuel and labor. When used for cutting, strike an arc at the point where cutting is to begin. Once the arc is struck, maintain the electrode in contact with the work. Quickly remove the electrode once the hole is pierced. To enlarge the hole, move the electrode in a circular motion.
