Item Details

Harris® 26 3/32" Dia X 14" Aluminum Maintenance Electrode comes in a 5 lb box and is great for foundry defects, machining errors and all types of salvage work. Electrode is ideal for fabrication and repair of cast and wrought aluminum. Electrode features a precise combination of core wire and coating that offers high speed deposition of dense, machinable welds. It is widely used on sheets, tubes and extrusions in thicknesses of 1/8" or more. Electrode has tensile strength up to 34000 psi and is well-suited for torch application. All position electrode features great electrical conductivity, good color match and corrosion resistance. It requires preheat of 5000 deg F for good results and is encouraged on sections greater than 1/8". Clean with hot water and add 10% sulphuric acid to water if additional cleaning is needed. Slag is easily removable and should be brushed or chipped before multiple passes. It uses DC-reverse polarity.
