Hobart® E8018-C1 H4 Hoballoy® 8018C1 Low Alloy Steel Electrode with 1/8" Dia uses DCEP (Direct Current Electrode Positive) type current and is recommended for use in shipbuilding, piping and storage tanks. The outstanding characteristics of this electrode offer good puddle control with excellent wetting action and tie in. Hoballoy® 8018C1 is an high quality electrode designed for applications of 2% nickel deposits. Low spatter level improves weld bead appearance and higher deposition. Quick and easy slag removal helps in reducing clean-up time. Electrode offers good arc characteristics producing a stable, easy to control arc and low moisture reabsorption prevents starting porosity. Low smoke level features welder safety and comfort. It features low hydrogen, less than 4 ml/100 g that has resistance to moisture reabsorption which helps prevent hydrogen cracking and aids in elimination of starting porosity. The Hoballoy® 8018C1 will offer notch toughness of 20 lb at -75 deg F and the coating is particularly formulated to resist moisture pick-up under conditions of high heat and humidity. Definitely a preferred electrode with high operator appeal. Electrode comes in a hermetically sealed container of 50 lb.
