Item Details

ESAB® AtomArc® 7018-M Carbon Steel Electrode is a low hydrogen iron powder electrode comes in an all position and is specially formulated to weld carbon steels along with high tensile steels like grade HT of MIL-S-16113 and MIL-S-22698. Stick electrode is designed to satisfy military specification MIL-E-0022200/10 requirements such as mechanical properties, coating moisture and diffusible hydrogen content. 5/32" Dia electrode features gas chromatography method to analyze hydrogen coupons that is showed an average of 0.026 ml/g of diffusible hydrogen and meets the specifications of AWS A5.1 E7018M, ASME SFA 5.1, QPL-22200/1, MIL-7018-M and A.B.S.-3,3Y(H5). Electrode is used for the attachment welds to HY-80 and HY-100 and requires preheat to weld heavy sections and is used with hardenable steels that prevent hard heat-affected zone formation that in turn reject tendencies towards quench cracking on cooling. Electrode is sold as a 50 lb hermetically sealed container.

Features

  • Preheat is generally not required with AtomArc® 7018-M to prevent underbead cracking
